Understanding the results page

The image below shows the search results for HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE. The left side lists the videos matching your search. Clicking any result takes you to its page. The right side tells you how many and what type of items matched your search. It also offers alternative ways to display the results and ways to refine your search. For example, supposing you only wanted to display the Questions that matched your search, you would go to the Content Type options on the right side, and check Questions and uncheck Videos.

Sometimes some of the results might seem to have nothing to do with your search terms, but if you look carefully, you'll see that they actually do.

Search technical details

By default, the search uses an "AND" operator for phrases, meaning it will search for results containing the phrase you entered. (A search operator is an instruction that joins keywords to form a new, more powerful search.) If the search cannot find anything that matches the phrase you entered, it will switch to an "OR" operator and look for results containing any of the keywords in the phrase.

More search technical details: Relevancy, keyword frequency, and relationships

Results are sorted by relevancy in addition to the rules above to find the best matches for a particular phrase or keyword. The search takes into account word frequency algorithms and relative terms as well as several other advanced factors to deliver the best search experience.

The search is capable of searching the full video transcript, sources, video translation languages, and acknowledgements. If you are having trouble finding subject matter on a particular topic, try using relative keywords and phrases within the search and try again.
